The button charm was originally made for my mum. Growing up, she always had a project on the go. She wasn't making for money but for joy, and for the purpose of creating thoughtful and intentional gifts. A cardigan would be knitted if someone had a baby on the way, or a couple that had been saving to buy were made a big quilt with thoughtfully chosen textiles and icons to commemorate their achievements. Having this around me growing up influences the way I make today, I love thoughtful and personal designs and the button charm feels like a full circle expression of that.
The Button was chosen by my mum, I took it to my studio, sand cast an imperfect copy and then thread it with fine brass wire to complete this charm.
